Gavin is all about the toys, and now that he is sitting up, he can play with all sorts of new toys. He still loves the rattles - and especially banging them against things for maximum noise! But now he can play with the big things with buttons that need pushing and music (questionable description of the sounds that come out of these things) that plays!
At 7-months Gavin is cuter than ever adn sitting up on his own.
Grandpa gave Gavin a Notre Dame shirt. Daddy is standing firm as a Purdue fan. Lucky for Gavin, he doesn’t know how badly his team is doing this year!
This weekend Gavin began to really sit unsupported. He can’t get to a sitting position on his own, but will stay there and can play with his toys this way. And he loves it. A different perspective on the world!
Gavin is so much more of a morning person than either of his parents. He’s really a joy to wake up to! He’s always got a big smile for us when we go to get him out of his crib, and for the most part is content making cute noises until we can pry ourselves out from bed. And how do we repay him? Gruel!
This picture is actually a lucky combination of a few recent events: Gavin’s love of solid foods, his new facial expression, and a cold-induced runny nose. They all occur by themselves, but he was kind enough to sum them all up for us here. It’s tough being the baby!
We were a little late on the 6-month photo in the chair where we take a photo every month. Gavin is growing by leaps and bounds and here is sitting unsupported. (in the series of photos in the next minute he is progressively more and more horizontal!)
On September 10, Grammy’s birthday, Gavin got his first “solid” food. As a special treat, Grammy gave it to him using Mama’s silver spoon from when she was a kid. He didn’t really mind the rice cereal, but he didn’t really eat it either!

Gavin met his Grandpa for the first time in Indiana. Grandpa was very pleased with the visit and Gavin took to him right away.
